This balm is excellent at getting rid of makeup, and doesn’t hurt my eyes. The scent is quite neutral, honestly kinda reminds me of Crisco but it doesn’t bother me. That being said, there are cheaper options out there that will give the same, if not better, results. For example, Ponds Cold Cream is a quarter of the price ($6-7) and sometimes actually works BETTER than Clinique. The Softymo Speedy Cleaning Oil also works just as great, and is around that same price point. Overall, yes this Clinique balm is great. But for the price point? Hm.

I ordered this after reading the reviews for this product, and I’m thrilled to report that it deserves every bit of praise! I’ve been using Clinique High Impact Full Volume Water Resistant mascara and I’ve had trouble finding a makeup remover that works—this stuff takes it off in seconds with no raccoon eyes! Additionally, I’m a 68yo woman with very sensitive skin around the eye area, and this doesn’t irritate it AT ALL. I accidentally ordered the 6oz tub, but I’m happy I did—it will last FOREVER.
Love, love, love! I’ve tried plenty of other cleansing balms and I always come back to this one. It is gentle to my dry skin but it always dissolves everything, even waterproof liner and tubing mascara.My only complaint is that it’s hard to scoop out the right amount. It feels so luxe in my fingers that I always want to pull out a big chunk and feel it melt into oil on my hand. So I will blow through a jar very easily!
